Cameo at the RDE Annual Event

On a random whim, Stick “The Short Sale Kid” and I decided to get in his Audi S5 and take a drive over to Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad Event in Orlando. I drove over to Stick’s house and enjoyed some bottled H2O while I looked out his floor to ceiling windows, waiting for him to brush his teeth. He may have woken up 3 minutes ago. Probably not...

I hopped into the custom red leather bucket passenger seat and enjoyed the luxury ride to the land of Mikey. Arriving at the event, Stick was recognized almost immediately. It’s quite the experience walking next to someone people recognize from videos and photos they’ve seen, articles they’ve read. He handles it well though. He even obliges a photo or two. Personally, when people find out who I am, I am not as graceful. I smile, point to stick's head and say, "hey, look at his hair. crazy, huh?". Seems to work.

There were multiple rooms set up for the conference with product booths galore and a stage for the speakers. Kiyosaki was planted in a corner of the product booth room with a line I didn’t have the patience to stand in. We met up at the RealEstateInvestor.com Web 2.0 booth with model’s Barbara Kulik and Christine Smith, representing with white RealEstateInvestor.com tank tops. Hey Colin, where’s my free shirt?

We had planned to see Colin Egbert speak at the event, sitting in the back of the room, Barbara, Stick and I listened to his Web 2.0 presentation. I caught myself saying, “man, if I didn’t already have it, I would want this.”. At the end, he had everyone stand that had watched or uploaded a video onto the Internet in the last 30 days. Most of the room rose to answer. Then he told those of us to remain standing that made money off of those videos. Everyone but six people in the room dropped down into their seat cushions. Among those standing was The Short Sale Kid. (No surprise here.) When Colin got to him, he asked what kind of funds he had rolling in due to these videos he posted. Stick answered: “Well, I made about $50,000 in the past 2 hours.”. The room was an uproar of cheers and clapping. Success!

The evening ended with dinner at Season’s 52 followed by VIP access to some backdoor club in Orlando I had never heard of. Stick had the hook up at the club. I guess he just knows people.

All in all, a day filled with a cameo by Robert Kiyosaki, an inspiring speech by Colin Egbert followed by dinner and VIP with a couple model friends and a couple of the top Real Estate Investor minds in the country. Not bad.

On a side note, I cannot explain why I felt the need to bend down in this photo but I can assure you I am not 4'10".
